IncubaUC’s Chile Inventa Announces its 2011 Award Winners

IncubaUC, the business incubator at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile awarded the winners of ChileInventa 2011 which was organized in conjunction with Innova DuocUC Center. ChileInventa is a contest that seeks to promote the transfer market process or results/outcomes of research and development projects through prototyping, for proper marketing and/or technology transfer.

The ceremony took place at the Aula Magna of the UC MBA, and was attended by Felipe Bahamondes, DICTUC Manager, Maria Soledad Fernandez, DUOC Project Director, Marcelo Diaz Bowen, Manager of IncubaUC, special invited guests, family and the incubator teams.

The winners were:

First Place

EOLICLEAN, a technological device used to  clean and maintain wind towers

Researcher: David Gomez

 

Second Place:

Seismic Protection Capsule and Panic Control

Researcher: Mauricio Gallardo

 

Third Place:

AUPS, “The Intelligent Bulb”

Researcher: Jaime Gonzalez and Cristian Escobar

 

The first place winner won a round trip ticket courtesy of American Airlines to travel to their choice of Austin, Texas, Silicon Valley, California or Boston, Massachusetts including.

  • 1 week accommodations in their chosen destination.
  • 5 hours of consulting from the law firm of De la Barra, Ernst and Siebel
  • 10 hours of coaching by Createch technology
  • 1 year subscription to City Magazine
  • Support for applying for a line of subsidized funding through InnovaChile/Corfo for ‘Packaging Technology’
