It’s the Year of Innovation in Chile and that means programming, activities and events for EVERYONE to participate in, from first time entrepreneurs and young people to retirees and the unemployed workforce who are looking for ways to reinvent themselves.
This week we are thrilled to bring you news that the Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum (JWEF) will be hosted for the first time in Chile. As addressed in this year’s Davos Economic Summit, with young people under the age of 24 making up approximately 40% of the world’s unemployment rate, youth unemployment is now considered both a global crisis and global responsibility (Source: Global Agenda Council on Youth Unemployment).
This Global Forum on Youth Entrepreneurship will address topics and themes essential for building and nurturing globally competent young leaders throughout Chile. Additionally, the ideas and recommendations generated during these two days will be gathered in a white paper and presented in the 6th Edition of the WEF to be held in Singapore this November.
What is JWEF?
Much like an ‘interactive panel + conference’ the Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum, is a gathering of global scale that connects entrepreneurs and students with the aim of consolidating the country’s position as an attractive region of international entrepreneurship.
This event is the junior version of the World Entrepreneurship Forum, a unique global forum that promotes entrepreneurship and brings together all the key players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Impact to Date
Since its inception in 2008, the World Entrepreneurship Forum represented over 75 countries creating a powerful international community. With more than 150 newspaper articles in 35 countries in 2012 – Forbes, The Times of India, etc.. – The World Entrepreneurship Forum gained international recognition and fame defining it as an exceptional and unique event.
Now represented by 18 countries worldwide with over 10,000 students, the Junior World Entrepreneurship Forum aims to increase the presence of Chilean entrepreneurs globally, and to promote and encourage youth entrepreneurship in Chile.
