Out of about 600 applications, TechStars Seattle, the number one startup accelerator in the world, recently chose 10 startups from all over the world to be a part in this year’s class of the technology incubator.
This is actually quite a privilege, because TechStars is known for having an incredibly low acceptance rate.
Each of the 10 teams will receive approximately $118K in seed funding and an optional $100K convertible debt note) as part of the three-month accelerating program, running from August 6th to November 8th, 2012.
This year’s class consists of two international companies, four Seattle-based companies, and six companies who relocated to Seattle from across the country.
To the latter, it is with great honor that we are proud to report, belongs a startup that we claim our own here in Chile (via the UK) Maptia.
