Today is Horacio Melo’s last day as the Executive Director of Start Up Chile. He has served as the Executive Director for the past 3 years, after taking over the post held by Jean Boudeguer. Boudeguer left Start Up Chile to run Cumplo, a Peer 2 Peer lending service, founded by Start Up Chile founder Nicolás Shea.
Melo’s position will be assumed by Sebastián Vidal who formerly served as the Assistant Director/COO at Start Up Chile. Vidal has definitely paid his dues and done his time in the trenches, serving as that guy who was largely responsible for managing the reimbursements submitted Start Up Chile founders!
From my experience working in startup land in Chile, Vidal was extremely active in Chile’s startup ecosystem and could often be found attending and networking at many of the events and seminars.
For those curious as to what’s next for Melo – he says that he has switched sides and joined the team of entrepreneurs who dream to make Chile and the world a better place for everyone.
AndesBeat wishes continued success to both Vidal and Melo in their respective professional endeavors.
