AndesBeat is proud to announce Mike Michalowicz (pronounced mi-cal-O-wits) as the next confirmed mentor for AndesMade. (You can follow our running list with previous named mentors here!)
Mike will be working with our international advisory team for our forthcoming AndesMade immersion based initiative to support Chilean startup founders and tech entrepreneurs with rapid prototyping and quickly getting their ideas into the marketplace with their bootstrapping mode on.
Being that we are going to be bootstrapping (sin shoelaces), we had to flip through our ‘Golden Rolodex’ and find at least one accomplished bootstrapper for our advisory team.
Enter Mike Michalowicz aka ‘The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur’ who started his first business at the age of 24. With no experience, no contacts and no savings he systematically bootstrapped a multi-million dollar business. Then he did it again. And again. He sold his first company to private investors and sold his second company to a Fortune 500.
His experience building three multi-million dollar companies fostered a philosophy rarely taught to entrepreneurs: the lack of money, experience and resources is, in fact, your greatest asset.
Mike is currently the President of a behavioral e-marketing firm, Obsidian Launch and is the small business columnist for The Wall Street Journal. He is a frequent television guest on entrepreneurship; and is the author of the entrepreneurial cult classic book, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur. He is currently writing his second book, to be released in 2012 by Portfolio, an imprint of the Penguin Group.
Not to mention, he is like the craziest muddafuddin’ video blogger ever and it will definitely be fun to integrate him into some of our upcoming projects in the multimedia space. Although, he is a wonderful producer and director, I do not wish to remember the cameo appearance I made when he was promoting the TPE book. Luckily, I have lost some weight since that video, haha, and made a few more TV appearances and thus have improved my on air skills…I think! :-P
Again, it is with great pleasure and tremendous excitement that Carlos and I along with the AndesBeat family welcomes Mike Michalowicz to our international advisory board and mentoring network. We are honored to have the opportunity to personally work with Mike in evolving the Chilean and Latin American startup and tech/web entrepreneurship communities.
Who’s next to be announced on our International Advisory Team?
Perhaps it could be YOU!
If you are an executive level director, startup founder, developer or investor (anywhere in the world) who has an interest in connecting hands on with the Chilean and Latin American startup community in the very early stages, please consider joining our advisory team.
Designed and built for impact, AndesMade was born with the objective to support all the Latin American startups (piloting in Chile) rejected for funding programs and incubators.
Participants work in a structured (but experiential) environment while leveraging collective intelligence to reposition and rebuild their ideas according to market needs.
AndesMade is not a bootcamp, accelerator or incubator.
